Teachers & Guides
Sacred Psychology was conceived and gestated in a slow brew of learning with many teachers and guides.
The birth of Sacred Psychology has been midwived with an increasingly more subtle awareness to the elements that it provides and the vision it holds.
Sacred Psychology is awake with an abiding sense of urgency, calling and a conviction to lead humans to meeting, communicating and practicing in reverence. It is a time to process all that it took to arrive here and to bring us back to our bodies, heart and mind.
Thus, I give great thanks to my conceiving, birthing and upbringing teachers - Mother - who leaves no stone un-turned when it comes to inquiring about human nature. I thank my Father’s modelling an exquisite capacity of mind and generosity
I thank Rachel Shalgi and Mordechai Kaminesky both who taught me deep analytical skills to classic texts that shaped the minds of myself, the people around me and the cultures I was submerged in my maiden years. I give great thanks to those two high school teachers.
I thank Debbie Yafe - Women’s Studies professor whose ways of teachings radicalized my thinking, opened my eyes, and dissolved the patriarchal spell. I thank that witch with whom I had spent a few years daily. She vanished and I cannot have not been able to find a way to contact her on the world wide technological swirl - all part of the mystery.
I give great thanks to Prof. Bonnie Leadbeater who came to teach a radically new course in a stroke of divine timing - as after women’s studies, I was convinced I must leave psychology as a profession. Immense gratitude to teaching and supervising me through Psychological Development of Women.
I am grateful to Prof Ruth Sharabany: A playful deep thinker who mentored my research through two degrees - Thanks to countless conversations of theory building through relating. Ruth embodies the depatriarchilzation of academic thinking by offering tea and almonds into fiery conversations within a literal ivory tower . Thanks to her I have liberated my research methods and work.
I give great thanks to my yoga teachers that are many over the years - Liat Gal-Cohen for teaching me the yogic way of life. Her devoted and intimate way of guiding me lasted a decade of ever deepening practice. The various traditions and ways coalesce - each offering a pathway into the softening, healing and stilling the nervous system external, internal and the slowing of the neurons in the brain.
Life changing gratitude to Samantha Coker-Godson. She opened a door, invited me in, and showed me the way to the Middle Way teachings of the Buddha Dharma. Consistently practicing meditation and lovingly and ferociously guiding me through the dark night of my soul. Ongoingly, Sam illuminates the way for the Dharma Circle sangha.
I give endless gratitude to my menstruality teachers over time and space indirectly and directly. I thank the Red Tent community in the Holy Land who was guided by the teachings of Deanna Lam. Jane Hardwicke Collings, Jane Bennett of the Chalice Foundation, and Alexandra Pope & Sjanie Hugo Wurlitzer of the Red School.
Jane Hardwicke Collings, agent of the goddess and the founder of The School of Shamanic Womancraft, is my direct teacher for shamanism, rites of passage and mentor for my journey to sagessence. She is also my truest ally to dismantling the patriarchy through understanding the blood mysteries.
I have immense gratitude to Orianne Shavit, my gifted paternal cousin, whose art holds space for me and continuously guides me in creating the Sacred Psychology tribe.
