What is Sacred Psychology?

Sacred Psychology is an orientation and a healing modality.

As an orientation, Sacred Psychology holds a view that all aspects of life have a depth of meaning.

The psyche - inclusive of the body, heart and mind are sacred in that they are worthy of exploration, awe and reverence.

The modality weaves together ancient re-membered knowledge into practices of conversation, breath, movement and cultivating an embodied understanding of the cyclicality.

Dynamics between the individual and the collective, humanity and other sentient beings, actions and practices are cultivate towards an increasingly reverent relationship to life .

With support and teachings, we can expand our ability to be present with both pleasant and unpleasant experiences that are inherent to human existence.

Sacred Psychology integrates Relational Psychoanalytic psychotherapy, Shamanic Womancraft, Buddha Dharma, Yogic traditions and menstrual cycle awareness as cardinal teachings.

Sacred Psychology is a pragmatic approach aiming to cultivate skillfulness in life.

Humans who exist today have been shaped over millennia within social constructs submerged in a social order. We hold an appreciation for the unique permutations that developed in inter-related contexts of countries, cultures and societies, inter-generational family systems and parental models. Who a person is and the ways of thinking, feeling and operating in this world are often seen in fixed terms: Sacred Psychology has the length of experience to have seen “personalities” change.

Sacred Psychology is a Tribal Practice

It acknowledges that conversation alone will not shift deeply held patterns of psychic and physical pain. Thus, it is by definition a collaborative modality. While psychotherapy is often the container in which getting to know humans, couples and groups, Sacred Psychology works with professional practitioners who hold similar outlooks. All have been tried and vetted for view, open mindedness, kindness and ethics. Thus, The Tribe features an interconnected web of recommendations which you can explore yourself on The Tribe page.
